Vinayak Thermex TMT Bars
A steel of generation next has physical and chemical properties superior to others on various counts.
Vinayak Thermex TMT bar is produced by the innovative method of direct charging of continuous cast billets to the rolling mill, which leads to the advantages of saving energy, increasing production capacity, reducing burning loss, decreasing rolling defects, and better surface finish of the finished product. Vinayak Thermex TMT bars are produced by the state of the art, THERMEX- QST process. The THERMEX QST rebar technology forms an intense and precise inline quenching of the rolled bar, resulting in a hardened periphery.
On further cooling of the bar in the atmosphere a thermal exchange (THERMEX) takes place between the core and cooled outside Martensite surface, where by the resultant bar structure is a distinct Tempered Martensite at the periphery and a fine-grained Ferrite-Pearlite structure in the central zone, resulting in superior mechanical properties. Vinayak Thermex TMT bars have a unique advantage over others because of their strict Quality Assurance Measures. Vinayak Steels Limited is committed to achieving quality excellence.
Advantages
1i. Better Safety of structures
because of higher Strength combined with higher Ductility.
2ii. Easy working at site
Owing to better Ductility and Bendability. Pre-welded meshes can be made to eliminate manual binding at site. Reduces construction and fabrication time.
3iii. Resists fire
Unlike Ti steel/ CTD Reinforcement bars, TMT but have high thermal stability. They are the preferred choice when elevated temperatures of 400-6000 C may be encountered (Chimneys, fires).
4iv. Resists corrosion
The TMT process gives the bar superior strength and anti-corrosive properties. Controlled water-cooling prevents the formation of coarse carbides, which has been cited as the main cause for the corrosive nature of common bar. Another reason for better corrosion resistance is the absence of surface stresses caused by the cold twisting process.
5V. Formability
Due to very high elongation values and consistent properties through out the length of bar, TMT rebars have excellent workability and bendability.
1vi. Malleability
TMT bars are most preferred because of their flexible nature.
2vii. Earthquake resistance
The soft ferrite-pearlite core enables the bar to bear dynamic and seismic loading. TMT bars have high fatigue resistance to Dynamic/ Seismic loads di to its higher ductility quality. This makes them most suitable for use in earthquake prone areas.
3viii. Fine welding features
Weldability is ability of material to be welded.Due to its low carbon content and low Carbon Equivalent TMT bar have fine welding feature either in butt welding or lap welding.
4ix. Bonding strength
External ribs running across the entire length of the TMT Bar give superior bonding strength between the bar and the concrete.
5x. Cost-effective
A high tensile strength and better elongation value gives you great savings, Reduced Transportation Costs. The figures of these savings as given in SAIL website are reproduced below
